Who is Robert Williams?

Creative Coordinator. Brand Storyteller. Community-Driven Strategist.
Hello! I’m Robert E. Williams II (they/them), a multidisciplinary artist with a passion for storytelling, brand development, and community-driven content creation. With a background in theatre, marketing, and visual media, I specialize in crafting compelling narratives that engage audiences and amplify brand identities.
My career began in theatre, where I developed a deep appreciation for collaboration and the power of storytelling to connect with audiences. Transitioning into marketing and community outreach, I led creative initiatives for nonprofits, developing campaigns that authentically showcased their mission and impact. My expertise lies in bringing together local talent, designers, and strategists to create content that resonates, whether through digital campaigns, live experiences, or multimedia storytelling.
As a creative producer, I have developed and directed original work that blends visual and performance art. My production TRADITION, produced at Playhouse on the Square, used devised theatre techniques to explore new arenas of entertainment in the digital age, leveraging ShowTix4U as an online streaming platform to expand accessibilty and reach. In response to the pandemic’s impact on the arts, I co-produced ANARCHY americana, an online cabaret that provided a platform for performers across the country.
I contribute to publications that explore identity and storytelling, applying skills in visual and written context to shape narratives that resonate with diverse audiences. My most recent contribution was for AUTHENTIC SELVES: Celebrating Trans and Nonbinary People and Their Families, a collection of interviews by Peggy Gellispe, published by Skinner House Books in collaboration with the Family Diversity Projects, PFLAG National, and the Transgender Legal Defense & Education Fund. Other contributions include “Playhouse After 50,” a photo essay printed in Issue 3 of The Flashpaper Journal and a feature in TeenVogue’s “50 States of Pride,” by Tyler Ford.
I am always exploring new ways to tell impactful stories, whether through film photography, live performance, or digital media. I am eager to bring my passion for storytelling, community engagement, and creative leadership to foward-thinking brands and organizations.
In my free time, you can catch me curating the visual world of my Tumblr blog or documenting my life with 35mm film.
